Bagh Amberpet residents complain about delay in restoration of dug-up road
Hyderabad: Residents of Bagh Amberpet have been demanding the authorities to fix the dug up road as they are facing severe hardships due to the poor road condition since Diwali festival.
They said that the street no. 15 under the Bagh Amberpet division was dug up after Diwali. The civic authorities carried out some drainage pipeline work which lasted for 25 days. However, after the completion of pipeline works, the road was not repaired, they said.
Expressing concern over the worsening condition of the dug up road, the residents said the road is covered with potholes and has an uneven surface, making daily commuting difficult for them. They added that for over 80 days, locals have been struggling to navigate the unsafe roads, leading to multiple injuries and severe inconvenience.
They claim that their repeated requests to local authorities to repair the severely damaged road have been ignored. The civic officials have continuously assured residents that the repairs would be carried out "soon," however, have failed to take necessary action, leaving them to suffer daily.
The alleged negligence on the part of authorities has caused significant hardships, especially for the elderly, school-going children, and daily commuters. Frustrated by the inaction, residents have now taken to the streets, demanding an urgent resolution.
The affected residents have appealed to the higher authorities to look into their concern and direct the concerned officials to initiate the road repair work to ensure safe and smooth commute in their locality.
