Runners from Telangana and across India hit the track at Necklace Road for Avantika Run 2025
Hyderabad: The Avantika Telangana Run 2025 was successfully held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at Necklace Road, Hyderabad, drawing thousands of participants from across Telangana and several other states. The event featured multiple race categories, including 3K, 5K, 10K, and the Half Marathon, bringing together amateur and seasoned runners alike.
Organized by the Society for Telangana Runners, the run aimed to promote fitness and health awareness across the state. Participants from all districts of Telangana and beyond turned the event into a large-scale celebration of health and community.
Prominent guests flagged off the runs and later felicitated the winners. Among them were A.P. Jitender Reddy, President of the Olympic Association of Telangana and former MP; Dr. A. Ram Kishan, Deputy Drugs Controller (India) and WHO Expert Panel Member; Yannam Srinivas Reddy, Managing Director of Avantika Constructions; and Marri Laxman Reddy, Chairman of MLR Group of Institutions.
Speaking at the event, Jitender Reddy praised the society’s “Fit Telangana” initiative for its efforts in promoting running from urban centres to rural parts of the state. Dr. Ram Kishan commended the organizers for bringing together runners from across the country and ensuring seamless execution. Yannam Srinivas Reddy expressed pride in Avantika Constructions’ sponsorship of the first-ever Telangana Run and reaffirmed support for the state’s fitness efforts. At 81, Marri Laxman Reddy shared his own commitment to fitness and urged the youth to embrace running as a daily habit.
The organizing committee, led by Society President Dr. Soma Jagan Mohan Reddy, included Pannala Harish Chandra Reddy, Srinivas Maggari, Srikanth, Dr. Mahesh Thumu, Ravi Sambari, Raju, Satish, Sunil, Aditya Devi, and Johannes. They were supported by hundreds of volunteers across hydration, route management, parking, expo, breakfast, and stage coordination teams.
The society also announced its upcoming flagship events, the Anantagiri Trail Run and the Godavari River Run, scheduled for later this year, continuing its efforts to build a statewide running culture. The Avantika Telangana Run 2025 marked more than just a race. For many, it was the beginning of a broader movement toward healthier living.
