Hyderabad:Former Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) staff was arrested by Hyderabad police in a fraud case on Friday.

The accused has been identified as Dr. B. Lakshmi, Retired Director of Center for Human Resource Development & Centre for Agriculture Rural Development at Administrative Staff College of India.

According to a complaint by B. Jagadesh Kumar, Administrative Officer at ASCI, Dr. B. Lakshmi is accused of raising false invoices and manipulating financial records between 2021 and 2024. The investigation reveals Dr. Lakshmi prepared fake resumes and forged signatures of individuals she claimed were experts. These individuals were falsely presented as service providers in training programmes.

According to the police, Dr. Lakshmi transferred substantial amounts from ASCI into accounts of known individuals.After crediting these funds, she instructed them to withdraw the money and hand it over to her for personal use.

Accused of forgery and financial manipulation

“The offence of impersonation by making fraudulent forged invoices as valuable security documents with criminal intent. The accused, Dr. B.Lakshmi, gained wrongfully with the support of her PA M.Ravi Kumar and other accused, causing loss to the Administrative Staff College of India, Bella Vista Campus, Raj Bhavan Road, Hyderabad, during 2021 to 2024, said Hyderabad police.”

Dr. B. Lakshmi was arrested and subsequently sent to judicial remand on Friday. Further the case is under investigation.
