Andhra man impersonating TDP MP's son arrested in Hyderabad scam

Hyderabad: KPHB police of Cyberabad commissionerate arrested an imposter who is impersonating as a  son of an MP from Andhra Pradesh and deceiving the public.

The accused was identified as Dr. Vikranth Reddy alias Vayila Venkateshwarlu(29), Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh State.

According to the police the accused identified himself as Dr Vikrant Reddy, son of an MP from TDP party, Andhra Pradesh. According to a victim who lodged a complaint with KPHB police, the complainant runs the hostel by the name Sitara Women’s PG, Opp. JNTU Bus Stop, KPHB and resides in the hostel itself.

“A person named Dr. Vikranth Reddy, has visited her hostel to join his cousin. Further again he visited the hostel to join his juniors and also he visited the hostel four times to taste the food. Due to his multiple visits the complainant got acquainted with him. Later one day he informed her that he has a Jewellery shop at Jubilee Hills and insisted her to give her chain to him for remodeling. So she trusted him and handed over 4 tulas of gold chain to him," said the complainant.

Further the complainant added that the accused informed her that he needed to add more gold for remodeling the chain and for which she paid him Rs 55,000 online and Rs 45,000 in cash. But after that his phone number was not reachable and could not contact him.

Based on the complaint, KPHB police booked a case and arrested the accused. Further the accused was sent to judicial custody and investigation is underway.
