Anchor Suma Kanakala clarifies misleading ads, limited association with Raki Avenue
Hyderabad: Popular Telugu television anchor Suma Kanakala has responded to the ongoing controversy surrounding Raki Avenue Private Limited. Thousands of families in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, have alleged that the real estate company defrauded them after they invested in its Chandrika Avanthika Phase-2 project. The victims claim they were misled by advertisements featuring Kanakala, which influenced their decision to invest.
In response to the allegations, Suma Kanakala issued a statement clarifying that her association with Raki Avenues was limited to a promotional contract between 2016 and 2018. She said that any advertisements featuring her after this period were unauthorised and that she no longer represented the company.
Suma Kanakala further revealed that she has received legal notices from property buyers and has taken steps to address these concerns, including sending a legal notice to Raki Avenues. She urged the public to verify information from official sources and to respect the privacy of all parties involved.
The controversy erupted after numerous families claimed to have been lured into investing their life savings in the Raki Avenues project based on misleading advertisements featuring Kanakala and her husband. Despite promises of high-quality flats at competitive prices, the project has reportedly stalled, leaving buyers with unfinished properties and a company that appears to have abandoned its office.
According to the victims, the company's chairman and managing director, Ramaiah Venu, is absconding. The affected families have taken this issue to the police and are demanding justice from the Andhra Pradesh government.

Previously, Raki Avenue's Managing Director had highlighted the company's commitment to customer satisfaction in a promotional video, a promise now in sharp opposition to the current situation.
