Hyderabad’s Amberpet flyover set to open from Maha Shivaratri

The flyover connects Golnaka to Purnodaya Colony, reducing travel time for motorists entering the city from the Warangal Highway. While the land acquisition process delayed construction, the project ultimately involved a total cost of Rs. 450 crore, with Rs. 300 crore dedicated to land acquisition. He also reviewed the stretch from Golnaka Church to Vani Photo Studio and said that the civic officials would beautify the underneath of the flyover with greenery and build separate roads for the smooth vehicular movement.

Kishan Reddy said the land acquisition process took too long and therefore the flyover construction got delayed beyond expectations. He said he took this initiative as the people of his constituency were facing a lot of problems due to the congestion on the road.

“As an MP and former MLA of Amberpet Assembly constituency, I took the initiative and spoke to the Central government requesting that a flyover be constructed since there was a graveyard. There is a lot of traffic on this route. Local people also face constant traffic problems. People of Warangal and Khammam who pass through the national highway are also facing many difficulties,” the Union minister said.

The flyover covers the stretch between Golnaka and Purnodaya colony, near MCH Quarters. According to the officials, the flyover will reduce travel time for motorists entering the city from the Warangal Highway. It was built with a cost of Rs. 450 crore. The civic body spent Rs. 300 crore for acquiring land for the constriction of the flyover.

The construction works on the Amberpet flyover started in 2018 with an initial budget of Rs. 216 crore. The Central government had initially sanctioned Rs. 76.33 crore towards construction. The construction work began in 2021 and the project was set for completion in 2023. However, it got delayed due to various reasons.
