Allu Arjun wins best actor for Pushpa-2 at Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2024
Hyderabad: Allu Arjun has been awarded Best Actor for his performance in Pushpa-2 at the Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2024. The state film awards, reinstated after a 14-year gap, were announced today, May 29, 2025, in Hyderabad. This year, the awards have been named in honor of the late revolutionary poet and artist Gaddar, marking a significant move by the Telangana government to celebrate Telugu cinema and cultural voices.
The jury committee, chaired by veteran actress Jayasudha and supervised by Telangana Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju, submitted the final list of awardees to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka earlier this week. The winners were officially announced at a press briefing held at 10 AM today.
Kalki 2898 AD was named Best Film, while Pottel and Lucky Bhaskar were awarded second and third best films, respectively. Nivetha Thomas won Best Actress, and acclaimed filmmaker Nag Ashwin was recognized as Best Director. Allu Arjun was also named Best actor for his role in Pushpa-2, further highlighting his standout performance in the film.
In addition to the mainstream categories, the awards recognized a range of socially and culturally significant films. Committee Kurrollu was honored for its portrayal of national integration and social uplift and also won the award for Best Debut Director, Sri Yedu Vamsee. The Best Children’s Film award went to 35 Chinna Katha Kadu, and Razakar was recognized for its focus on environment, heritage, and history. The award for Best Wholesome Entertainment Film (Dr. M. Prabhaker Reddy Uttama Prajadarana Chitram) was given to Aay... Mem Friends Andi.
