Allu Arjun addresses social media backlash over not visiting injured boy

Tollywood actor Allu Arjun addressed the backlash for not visiting Sritej, a nine-year-old boy, who was seriously injured during a premiere show of the Pushpa 2 movie in a stampede at a theatre in Hyderabad. The boy’s vital parameters are stable, however, he continues to depend on a ventilator, according to doctors who are attending to him at a private hospital in the city.

In a statement released on Instagram on Sunday, Allu Arjun expressed concern for the young boy and said, “I remain deeply concerned about young Shri Tej, who is under constant medical care after the unfortunate incident.”

Explaining why he has not visited the hospital to meet the boy, the actor said his legal team has advised him against visiting the hospital or meeting his family at this time.

“My prayers remain with them, and I remain committed to taking responsibility for addressing their medical and family needs,” the actor wrote in his Insta note.

Pushpa actor informed his fans and the general public that he will meet Sritej and his family as soon as circumstances permit him. The actor was heavily criticized for not visiting the hospital and meeting the child who is currently under medical care.

“I wish him a speedy recovery, and I look forward to meeting him and his family at the earliest,” he concluded.

Sritej was rushed to the hospital in a semiconscious state after the policeman failed to revive his condition by administering CPR to him outside Sandhya theatre. Sritej’s mother Revathi died due to asphyxiation and he was injured after a large number of fans gathered at the theatre near RTC Crossroads to catch a glimpse of their matinee idol Allu Arjun.
