Ajay Devgn proposes film studio in Telangana; Kapil Dev backs state’s sports vision
Hyderabad: Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn met Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy Anumula at his official residence in New Delhi on Monday, July 7, 2025, and expressed interest in setting up a world-class film studio in Telangana.
Ajay Devgn proposed the development of an international-standard studio featuring state-of-the-art Animation, VFX, and AI-enabled smart production facilities. He also offered to establish a skill development institute to train professionals across various segments of the film industry.
Highlighting Telangana’s potential as a hub for cinema infrastructure, Ajay Devgn requested the state government’s support for the project. He shared his vision of contributing to the growth of the film ecosystem through global collaboration and advanced technology.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy briefed Ajay Devgn on the state’s efforts to promote media and entertainment. Ajay Devgn praised the state’s proactive approach and expressed willingness to act as a brand ambassador for “Rising Telangana” in the cinema and media sectors.
The meeting was attended by Ajit Reddy, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, and Dr. Gaurav Uppal, Secretary for Coordination of Central Schemes.
Kapil Dev extends support for sports university in Telangana
On the same day, former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev also met Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in New Delhi and commended Telangana’s initiatives in sports development.
The Chief Minister outlined plans for the proposed Young India Sports University and shared details of the government’s efforts to build sports infrastructure and support talent across the state. He also discussed learnings from recent visits to sports institutions in South Korea and other countries.
Kapil Dev expressed interest in collaborating with the Telangana Government to help shape the state’s sports ecosystem. He assured his support in the establishment of the Sports University and other initiatives aimed at nurturing young athletes. Ajit Reddy and Dr. Gaurav Uppal were present during the meeting.
