Mayor Gadwal Vijayalaxmi expressed condolences to Mohd Muzzafer Hussain’s family and paid tribute to his public service. On Thursday, Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Reddy visited his residence and offered floral tributes. Fellow corporators were shocked by the sudden loss and recalled his contributions to the Santoshnagar division.

This incident follows a series of recent heart-related deaths in and around Hyderabad, raising public concern over sudden cardiac arrests. On April 4, 2025, Vinay, a B.Tech student at CMR College in Medchal, collapsed and died of a heart attack while playing cricket on campus. He was taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The incident caused distress among students and sparked discussions on health risks during physical exertion, especially in Summer.

In another case, senior lawyer Venkat Ramana collapsed at an Indian Bank branch in Secunderabad on February 19, 2025, and was later declared dead at a hospital. Just a day earlier, on February 18, senior advocate P. Venugopal Rao suffered a fatal heart attack during a hearing at the Telangana High Court.

On November 11, 2024, Vishnuvardhan, 31, died while circumambulating the Anjaneyaswamy Temple in KPHB. Efforts to revive him failed. Earlier in October 2024, a taxi driver died of a heart attack while on duty at midnight on October 4. Two days before, on October 2, Kalal Praveen Goud collapsed and died while shopping at Jockey showroom in Kukatpally.

On September 15, 2024, software engineer Shyam Prasad suffered a fatal heart attack after participating in Ganesh Utsav celebrations in Manikonda. These incidents have drawn attention to the increasing number of sudden cardiac deaths across the city and underline the need for greater awareness around heart health and timely medical intervention.
