HYDERABAD: Agarwal Samaj Telangana president Anirudh Gupta has called upon all branches to organise Diwali Milan Annakoot programmes during the festival season. He suggested that if they held the events zone-wise, several branches could participate together, allowing Samaj officials to attend as well.

The members made the appeal at the third emergency special general meeting of Agarwal Samaj Telangana held on Monday under Gupta’s chairmanship.. The meeting reviewed programmes conducted during Agrasen Jayanti. Gupta expressed gratitude to Ritu Agarwal and her team for organising the Mahila Utsav at Classic Gardens, Secunderabad. He said that increasing membership and implementing the Privilege Card scheme would be the Samaj’s major projects over the next two years. Members were urged to share suggestions or complaints with the office or by email for immediate action.

The meeting began with prayers to Maharaja Agrasen. Office bearers and members including Vikas Kumar Keshan, Mukund Lal Agarwal, Shyam Sundar Agarwal, Ramesh Agarwal, Mahesh Naretha, advocate Suresh Agarwal, Jay Kumar Agarwal, Sanjay Agarwal, Piyush Agarwal, Subhash Garg, Daulat Narsimhpuria, Dinesh Narsimhpuria, Ashok Bansal, Laxminarayan Agarwal, Amit Agarwal, Naveen Kumar Agarwal, Sarla Shah and Rajesh Goyal shared their views. The Muralinagar branch felicitated Gupta for the successful organisation of Agrasen Jayanti.

Sports, cultural activities

Sports committee chairman Ramesh Agarwal and his team, in association with the Mansarovar Secunderabad branch, organised badminton competitions at Yousufguda Stadium, along with chess and carrom contests at Agarwal Samaj Banquet Hall. Members from across the community took part.

Gupta thanked branch office bearers, central committee members and organisers for making the 5,149th Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti Mahotsav a success. The main programme included a Kavi Sammelan by poet Kumar Vishwas and a Dandiya event, which saw enthusiastic participation.
