Actor Chiranjeevi's next film with 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' director Anil Ravipudi
Hyderabad: Megastar Chiranjeevi’s next film will be directed by Anil Ravipudi, who is known for his recent success with Sankranthiki Vasthunam. The film, tentatively titled Mega 157, is set to be released for Sankranthi 2026.
A video introducing the technical team of the film was shared on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), featuring the team expressing their enthusiasm and respect for the legendary actor. In the video, they also reminisce about some of Chiranjeevi’s iconic dialogues.

Anil Ravipudi’s Sankranthiki Vasthunam, starring Venkatesh, released on January 14, 2025, to positive reviews. The action-comedy film grossed between ₹225-300 crore worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing Telugu film of the year and the second highest-grossing Indian film of 2025. The film, produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations, also stars Aishwarya Rajesh, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and others. Principal photography for Sankranthiki Vasthunam took place across various locations, including Rajahmundry, Hyderabad, and Mussoorie.

Earlier this year, on March 19, 2025, Chiranjeevi was honored with the prestigious UK Parliament Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to cinema and society. The award was presented at the House of Commons in London by Bridge India, a UK-based organization recognizing individuals for their impact on public policy and the community.
Upon receiving the award, Chiranjeevi expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am filled with gratitude for the honor at the House of Commons, UK Parliament. Chiranjeevi, born on August 22, 1955, in Mogalthur, Andhra Pradesh, is a pioneering figure in Telugu cinema. He holds the record for the most "Industry Hits" in Telugu films, with several of his movies achieving top-grossing status at the time of release. His career includes iconic films such as Khaidi (1983), Pasivadi Pranam (1987), Yamudiki Mogudu (1988), Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (1990), and Indra (2002).
In addition to his film career, Chiranjeevi has been dedicated to philanthropy. In 1998, he founded the Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust, which runs the largest blood and eye banks in the Telugu states. His efforts have restored eyesight to over 9,000 individuals and provided free blood to those in need.
