ACB raids at Sub-Registrar Offices in Bibi Nagar, Jadcherla, & Sadashivapet; Seizes unaccounted cash
Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Telangana, carried out surprise raids today, on July 17, 2025, at three Sub-Registrar Offices (SRO) located in Bibi Nagar (Nalgonda district), Jadcherla (Mahabubnagar district), and Sadashivapet (Medak district). The inspections uncovered multiple irregularities at all three offices.
At Bibi Nagar Sub-Registrar Office, unaccounted cash of Rs 61,430 was seized, along with 12 unauthorized private agents operating within the premises. Staff were found holding 93 registered documents that were yet to be dispatched. CCTV cameras were non-functional, and several government registers were not maintained.
At Jadcherla Sub-Registrar Office, Rs 30,900 in unaccounted cash was recovered. Eleven unauthorized private agents were present, and 20 registered documents were held by staff instead of being dispatched. Record-keeping was inadequate.
At Sadashivapet Sub-Registrar Office, Rs 5,550 was seized. Nine unauthorized private agents were found, and 39 registered documents were held by staff. CCTV cameras were not working, several registers were missing, and discrepancies were found between staff’s personal cash and registrar accounts. Other irregularities were also noted. The ACB has forwarded a report to the government for necessary action.
