ACB nabs Panchayat Secretary taking Rs. 8,000 bribe in Sangareddy
Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Medak Range, on Monday, June 16, 2025, caught a Panchayat Secretary red-handed while accepting a bribe in Sangareddy district.
Patlolla Nagalaxmi, 40, Panchayat Secretary (Grade-III) of Budhera Grama Panchayat in Munipally Mandal, was apprehended at around 1:05 p.m. at the Gram Panchayat office in Budhera village. ACB officials said she had demanded and accepted a bribe of ₹8,000 from a complainant in exchange for issuing permission to set up a water servicing centre shed and for allotting a new house number to an open plot.
The tainted currency was recovered from her possession at her instance. ACB officials stated that the accused officer had acted improperly and dishonestly in the discharge of her official duties to gain undue advantage.
Nagalaxmi was arrested and will be produced before the II Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases, Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation. The identity of the complainant has been kept confidential for security reasons.
