ACB nabs Revenue Inspector in Medak for taking Rs. 12,000 bribe
Hyderabad: On March 11, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended Revenue Inspector Nakirekanti Janaiah at the Municipal Office in Medak Town. The accused, a resident of Medak Town and a native of Ratnapur village, Suryapet Mandal, was caught red-handed while demanding a bribe of Rs. 20,000.
He accepted Rs. 12,000 from the complainant in exchange for conducting an inquiry into an application regarding a property in Sy. No. 505/1/1/2, measuring 605 square yards, belonging to the complainant's brother, Srinivas.
The tainted bribe amount of Rs. 12,000 was recovered from Janaiah’s possession at the Municipal Office. A chemical test confirmed the presence of the bribe on the officer's left hand and the front pocket of his pants. The investigation revealed that the accused officer had performed his duties dishonestly to gain an undue advantage.
The ACB has arrested Nakirekanti Janaiah, who will be presented before the Hon'ble 1st Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court in Nampally, Hyderabad. The investigation is ongoing.
