Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Ranga Reddy Unit, arrested two individuals on February 24, 2025, in connection with a bribery case. The accused, C. Madhu, a Bill Collector at Rajendranagar Circle of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), demanded a bribe of Rs. 1,00,000 from a complainant. Madhu's private servant, V. Ramesh, accepted Rs. 45,000 from the complainant on Madhu’s behalf in exchange for preventing a property tax hike on the complainant's factory.

The bribe money was recovered from Ramesh, and a chemical test on his right-hand fingers confirmed the presence of tainted currency. Both Madhu and Ramesh were arrested and presented before the Hon'ble First Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally, Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.

In a separate incident, on February 20, 2025, the ACB, Hyderabad City Range-2 Unit arrested Boppuri Anand Kumar, Executive Director and FAC General Manager of the Telangana Scheduled Castes Co-Operative Development Corporation.

Anand Kumar was caught accepting Rs. 1,00,000 from a complainant in exchange for processing a sanctioned bill of Rs. 33,32,350 and facilitating future payments. A chemical test confirmed the presence of tainted currency. Anand Kumar was also presented before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally.
