ACB arrests official of Hyderabad's Civil Supplies Department for accepting Rs. 15k bribe
Hyderabad: Vikram Alexander, a Section Officer in the Office of Consumer Affairs, Food & Civil Supplies Department in Hyderabad, was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Hyderabad City Range-1 on October 18, 2024, at 3:10 p.m., for accepting a bribe. He was apprehended while demanding and accepting Rs.15,000 from a complainant in exchange for processing the complainant’s pensionary benefits file.
The ACB's investigation revealed that Alexander performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly. The bribe amount was recovered from him at the time of the arrest, and a chemical test conducted on his right hand confirmed the presence of the bribe.
Vikram Alexander is currently under arrest and will be presented before the Hon'ble Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases at the Nampally Court in Hyderabad. The case is ongoing.
The ACB has urged the public to report any instances of bribery by calling their toll-free number, 1064. The identities of complainants will be kept confidential to ensure their safety.
