Telangana to host 72nd Miss World grand final: A global celebration of beauty and purpose

All eyes are on Telangana as it prepares to host the prestigious 72nd Miss World Grand Final on May 31, marking a significant moment in the state’s cultural calendar. The grand event will take place at the HITEX Exhibition Centre at 1:00 PM GMT (6:30 PM IST), concluding a month-long celebration of beauty, purpose, and unity.

This year’s Miss World Festival has brought together 108 contestants from across the globe, each participating in a wide range of purpose-driven activities, cultural exchanges, and inspiring challenges held throughout Telangana. The final show promises an extraordinary display of elegance, talent, and compassion.

The Grand Final will be co-hosted by former Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle and Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar. Adding to the glamour, Bollywood stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Ishaan Khatter are set to deliver electrifying live performances.

One of the evening’s highlights will be the presentation of the prestigious Miss World Humanitarian Award to Indian actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood, who is also on the judging panel. Joining him will be Sudha Reddy, who previously hosted the Beauty With a Purpose Gala Dinner, and Dr Caryna Turrell, Miss England 2014, a distinguished public health expert and philanthropist. Julia Morley CBE, Chairwoman of the Miss World Organization, will lead the jury and announce the winner.

Former Miss World and Bollywood actress Manushi Chhillar will also make a special appearance during the finale.

As per the selection format, the top 10 contestants from each continental region—Americas & Caribbean, Africa, Europe, and Asia & Oceania—will move to the quarterfinals. Some contestants have already secured their spots through fast-track challenges in categories like Head to Head, Top Model, Multimedia, Talent, Sports, and Beauty With a Purpose. The finalists will be further narrowed down to a Top 5, then Top 2, before four continental winners are announced. The final round will involve a question-answer segment, after which the new Miss World will be crowned by reigning titleholder Krystyna Pyszková.
