70 persons caught red-handed in Cyberabad's public indecency crackdown
Hyderabad: The SHE Teams of Cyberabad have conducted 143 decoy operations and 70 persons were caught red-handed while indulging in indecent acts in public places this week.
During this week i.e. from 17.08.2025 to 23.08.2025, the SHE Teams of Cyberabad have booked petty cases in all 47 cases and counselling sessions were held for all the respondents. The SHE Teams also received 15 complaints from women victims through various modes. As part of preventive and awareness measures, 75 awareness programmes were conducted at different locations and 3 counselling sessions were organized at the Women & Children Safety Wing, Cyberabad.
The Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Cyberabad conducted raids during the nighttime in the limits of Police Stations Gachibowli, Madhapur, Narsingi, KPHB, Kukatpally, Sanathnagar, etc., and rescued 15 transgenders and 16 women who were indulging in prostitution.
On 20.08.2025, the AHTU team along with the Rescue Foundation, Delhi conducted a raid at Mahara Pushya Agri Products Pvt Ltd within the limits of Kondurg PS and rescued trafficked children/child labour, i.e., 6 girls and 1 boy from Jharkhand state and handed them over to NHRC, Delhi for rehabilitation.
Further, the Anti Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Cyberabad has conducted awareness programs across various locations in Cyberabad, and around 140 members participated, who were given awareness on human trafficking and (child trafficking), eve teasing, social media harassment, child marriages, child rights, child labour, stalking, begging, cyber bullying, cyber frauds, etc., women helpline 181, child helpline 1098, dial 100 importance, crimes 1930, and other topics.
Suraksha Kavach Program
In a major step toward enhancing student safety, the Suraksha Kavach program has officially been launched in several schools, including the prestigious Sreenidhi International School at Aziznagar. This initiative, designed to safeguard students and raise awareness about physical, cyber, psychological, road, and infrastructure safety, will be rolled out across educational institutions to help create a safer environment for children both inside and outside the classroom.
An orientation workshop was held for 25 SSC school educators from the Serilingampally region to introduce them to the program. The workshop aimed at empowering teachers with essential safety skills and knowledge, covered a wide array of topics, including emergency response, first aid, and how to effectively communicate safety measures to the students.
POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) session
Conducted a Women Safety and POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) session for 150 cab drivers at DuPont, Financial District, Hyderabad on 23rd August 2025 (Saturday).
The POSH session is an awareness training focused on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment. These sessions educate employees and employers about what constitutes sexual harassment, their legal rights and responsibilities, and the procedures for reporting and redressing such incidents, ultimately fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
“Cyberabad Women & Children Safety Wing continues its dedicated efforts to ensure the safety, protection, and well-being of women and children within its jurisdiction,” said M Shilpa, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Women and Child Safety Wing, Cyberabad.
In the Family Counselling Centre / CDEW Centre, about 34 families were counselled in wife and husband family disputes, and efforts were made to reunite them.
