66 miscreants caught indulging in indecent acts in public: Cyberabad crackdown

Hyderabad: The Women and Child Safety Wing, Cyberabad, caught 66 miscreants in a week-long decoy operation. They were engaging in indecent acts in public places. The Women and Child Safety Wing, Cyberabad, comprises SHE teams, women police stations, and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit.

The SHE Teams, Cyberabad conducted 154 decoy operations during the week. A total of 66 persons were caught red-handed while indulging in indecent acts at public places. Out of them, 57 petty cases were booked, and counselling sessions were held for all the respondents.

SHE Teams also received 16 complaints from women victims through various modes. As part of preventive and awareness measures, 85 awareness programmes were conducted at different locations and 5 counselling sessions were organized at the Women and Children Safety Wing, Cyberabad.

The Women Police Station Gachibowli handles cases involving disputes between husband and wife. A total of 29 complaints were received during this week. Of these, 11 cases were formally registered at the Women PS Gachibowli, and counselling is underway for the remaining complaints.

Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU)

The AHTU conducted an awareness program on human trafficking and child trafficking, eve teasing, social media harassment, child marriages, child rights, child labour, stalking, begging, cyber bullying, and cyber fraud. Women helpline 181, child helpline 1098, dial 100 importance, Crimes 1930, and other topics across various locations within the limits of Cyberabad, wherein around 230 members participated.During this week, the AHTU team rescued 2 transgender individuals and 9 women sex workers.

Operation Muskan-XI teams rescued 74 children, reunited 69 children with their parents, and admitted 5 children to shelter homes. Operation Muskan-XI teams registered 23 cases within the limits of the Cyberabad Commissionerate.

During the week, about 31 families were counselled in wife and husband family disputes, and efforts were made to reunite them. Cyberabad Women and Children Safety Wing continues its dedicated efforts to ensure the safety, protection, and well-being of women and children within its jurisdiction.
