25-year-old Yakutpura resident arrested for rape of German woman in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Rachakonda police have arrested Mohammed Abdul Aslam, a 25-year-old resident of Yakutpura, in connection with the rape of a German woman.

The incident, which occurred on March 31, 2025, was reported by the victim's friend, Sri Mangalgiri Sharath Chandra Chowdhury, at Pahadishareef Police Station on April 1, 2025.

According to the complaint, Sharath Chandra Chowdhury, a 24-year-old data analysis student, had been hosting two German nationals, including the victim, since March 4, 2025. On March 31, the victim and her friend, Maximilian Qiyuanliu, were approached by a Swift Desire car, driven by Mohammed Abdul Aslam. The car was occupied by five other minors, aged between 9 and 16, all from Yakutpura.

Mohammed Abdul Aslam offered the two travelers a ride to the nearby vegetable market. After refueling and visiting several locations, Aslam drove the victim to a secluded spot near Mamidipally in Pahadishareef. There, he threatened the victim and sexually assaulted her in the car. Following the assault, Mohammed Abdul Aslam returned to the spot where he had dropped the others, and the victim managed to escape and meet up with her friend.

A case was registered under Section 64(1) BNS, and Mohammed Abdul Aslam was arrested on April 1, 2025. During questioning, Mohammed Abdul Aslam confessed to the crime, stating that he had hired the car through the Long Drive app and planned the attack after gaining the victim's trust.

The victim was sent for a medical examination, and police have seized the car and other evidence from the crime scene.
