14 new excise police stations to open across Telangana from April 1
Hyderabad: Starting April 1, 2025, Telangana will inaugurate 14 new excise police stations across the state, with 13 stations in Hyderabad and one in Warangal Urban. The proposals for these stations were made in 2020, and after completing the division and demarcation of areas, along with the restructuring of duties, the government has now granted approval for their establishment.
The initiative has received approval from Prohibition and Excise Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Principal Secretary Rizvi, and Excise Commissioner Chevuru Hari Kiran. The Additional Commissioner of Excise, Ajay Rao, has issued official orders for the stations to begin operations from the first of April.
Operational Details:
Rental buildings for the new stations have been identified in areas including Banjara Hills, Chikkadpally, Gandipet, Kondapur, Pedda Amberpet, Kukatpally, Ameenpur, and Hasanparthy. These stations will operate from these locations starting April 1.
In areas where rental buildings are unavailable, the new Excise Police Stations will begin operations from special rooms at existing Excise Police Stations. Existing stations at Secunderabad, Saroor Nagar, Quthbullapur, Ghatkesar, Yeppal, and Malkajgiri will host the new stations in special rooms.
The current Station House Officers (SHOs) of the existing Excise Police Stations will continue as in-charges of the newly established stations. If the SHOs are unavailable, senior Excise Sub-Inspectors will be appointed as SHOs. All cases, records, and seized goods related to the newly assigned regions, including ganja, drugs, vehicles, jaggery, and NDPS liquor bottles, will be transferred to the new stations.
The new stations will be led by the following SHOs, Patel Banoth, Jagan Mohan Reddy, D. Ramakrishna, G. Devendar Rao, B. Lakshman Goud, N. Srinivasa Reddy, J. Dhanwanth Reddy, T. Yadayya, D.
